FLASH........SUMMER 2010.......Lots of exciting news from the summer show season!!
Sisters Wales Tails Kiss Me Kate and Wales Tails Lucy in the Sky both completed their AKC championship!! TWO NEW CHAMPIONS!!!
Ch. Wales Tails Globetrotter, after winning his AKC Champion title with very limited showing has started his agility career. He won his NADAC standard title with three flawless runs in one weekend. He added two new AKC agility titles.....novice regular preferred and novice jumpers with weaves and now has the first leg of his AKC open regular preferred title! He also did well at our July dog shows, winning Best Opposite Sex all three days and now has all three of his majors toward his Grand Champion title!!!!
Ch. Wales Tails MonPetitCavalier also stepped back into the dog show ring this year as a veteran entrant. In May, he was entered in the Veterans (age 7 - 10 years) and took a GROUP 1. In June, he took Best Opposite Sex the first day for his first major toward his Grand Champion title. The second day, he took BOB and a Group 3 for his second major toward the GC title.
Ch. Wales Tails Kiss Me Kate and older brother, Wales Tails Rogues Crooner both entered the herding ring and have been awarded their HT titles!!
Ch. Nicholars Soul Survivor (sister to Ch. Wales Tails Globetrotter) has completed so many AKC agility titles that I can't even begin to list them all here!!! Nichi is now competing at the excellent level and has been awarded one Masters Title in the agility ring.
Wales Tails JeNe Saisquoi puppies have completed titles in conformation, obedience, agility and herding with enough points/awards to qualify JeNe for a Register of Merit Silver listing with the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America. This title is bestowed to dams and sires who have produced a significant number of offspring who have received titles in various venues and is truly an honor.
Ch. Nicholars DeNova of Belukha (a daughter of Ch. Nicholars Soul Survivor) who I co-bred with Sharon Young, has done exceptionally well in the conformation ring. Zoe completed her AKC championship at under two years of age and has gone to receive multiple group placings. At our July shows, she won Best of Breed all three days, completing her Grand Championship on the second day. She received a group placing on the first day, but the second day she took a GROUP 1......followed by a BEST IN SHOW!!!!! Zoe is the first Alaskan-bred Best in Show Cardigan. She is also the first female Cardigan Corgi IN THE UNITED STATES to be awarded the Grand Champion title!!!! At not even three years old yet, this little girl is making waves in the show ring!!!! Zoe is owned by Tammy Batoc and Sharon Young and is the grand-daughter of Wales Tails JeNe Saisquoi.
Irish Setter Ch. Irish Tales Playboy has taken multiple Best Opposite awards this summer and has started earning his points toward his Grand Champion title. We are also working on his agility training and I'm very excited at the prospect of taking him into that competition venue. To the best of my knowledge, he'll be the first Irish Setter in the State of Alaska to have an agility title.
It's been an exciting summer for the Wales Tails and Irish Tales dogs so far this summer and it's not over yet. Watch for up-dates to come!!!!!!!!!!
